Veer XL 4 Seater Stroller Wagon Review: A Minimalist Solution

My 6-year-old son has Ataxic Cerebral Palsy and as a result, fatigues very easily. As a mom of 3, I was so concerned back in June that we would be stuck inside all summer long since I had no way of transporting all of my children (ages 6, 4, and 18 months). Their little legs could only get them so far without needing to be carried and while I do consider myself strong, I am not that strong. I was having this conversation with a friend who has children 14 months apart and she said that she was interested in getting a stroller wagon for her kids since they hate the stroller. While I had seen these stroller wagons around, I did not fully grasp the functionality of them at the time.
After countless hours of research, I decided that our family needed to get one. Fast forward to today and its been three months since we welcomed the Veer XL 4 Seater Stroller Wagon into our life. Honestly, I’m convinced that I wouldn’t have survived the summer without it.
But it doesn’t come without its disadvantages. We’ve put this wagon through the ringer from two beach vacations (Cape Cod and the Jersey Shore) to the aquarium, the zoo, our local music festival, little “hikes” around town, and endless walks.
I’ll give a full review of the pros, the cons, and personal tiips for using the Veer XL.

The Bottom Line
The Veer XL 4 Seater Stroller Wagon stands out among other wagons. Its compact design, easy assembly, and cleaning, as well as its ability to accommodate multiple children, are big advantages.
While there may be a slight learning curve for turning and some spatial limitations with regard to the snack tray and canopy shade, these drawbacks are relatively minor compared to the overall utility and convenience the Veer XL provides.
If you're looking for a no-nonsense, compact, and functional solution to transporting your kids, the Veer XL Stroller Wagon is a great option.

Selling Points
Wheels: All terrain performance. This was so important to me because my current double stroller (UppaBaby Vista) was so difficult to maneuver by myself when going up curbs or even over cracks in the sidewalk. I needed something that could easily handle curbs, gravel, uneven terrain, and grass and this wagon definitely checks those boxes.

Simple Assembly: Like most parents, I dread the assembly process when it comes to baby gear. The Veer XL, however, is remarkably easy to put together without the need for tools. The best part is that there is no disassembly required when folding it.
Lightweight: The weight of this wagon is 36.7 lbs without any children in it, which is light for a stroller wagon. For reference, the Wonderfold W4 Luxe stroller wagon is 63 lbs without children. Since it is lightweight, I am able to get the wagon in and out of my car by myself without any problems.
Easy to Clean: The messes that come with children are inevitable, but fortunately, cleaning the Veer is easy. There is no fabric to be removed or washed. I can just hose the wagon down when needed and let it dry. This is especially helpful after a day at the beach!
Capacity for Four Children: The Veer XL comfortably seats up to four children. As a bonus, there is even an infant car seat-compatible adapter (sold separately).

Drawbacks
Learning Curve for Turning: It takes a little time to get used to the turning. While no wagon carrying multiple kids will be easy to steer, this one takes some effort on the turns.
Snack Tray and Canopy Shade Size: The snack tray and canopy shade are geared toward smaller kids.
Cost. It is definitely much more expensive than those universal red wagons I grew up. The upside is you get what you pay for and it should last you much longer than a stroller.
Who Do I Recommend It For?
Anyone with multiple children. This wagon is for parents of kids of different ages, especially those who like to quickly get out and explore.
Kids who don’t tolerate being strapped into a stroller for longer periods.
Kids who like to be independent. The beauty of the Veer Wagon is the low sides allow older children to get in and out of the wagon by themselves, while the 3-strap harness keeps the younger ones secure.
Those shopping or carting objects that won’t fit in a stroller. Grocery run? Shipping a package? Bringing stuff to the beach? Plop it in the cart with (or without) the kids.
Tips
Put the heaviest load on the bigger tires.
Position your hands on the side of the handles for easier turning.
Throw a plush towel in the footwell and create a cozy space for your child to nap on the go!

My Experience
As a parent always seeking convenience, the Veer XL has been a game-changer for me. Its low sides and compact design make it easy for kids to hop in and out effortlessly. What truly sets it apart is its ability to handle various terrains, whether it's the uneven streets in our neighborhood, park trails, or even our shopping trips.
The catalyst for even considering this wagon was a disastrous family adventure to the town music festival, just one mile away. On the walk there, I had my one-year-old in the top of the double stroller and my small six-year-old on the bottom. I was so grateful my husband was with me because anytime we encountered uneven surfaces or curbs that were not flush with the street, I needed my husband to lift up the front of the stroller while I steered it over (definitely a two-person job).
Additionally, I made an error in judgment thinking that my then three-year-old daughter would be able to walk or "ride" (on the kickboard) both ways. She was not happy that her brothers were having a nice relaxing ride to and from. On the way home, it took us about an hour because we kept having to switch out children on the stroller when one would get tired. Needless to say, I knew that if this little outing WITH my husband was this challenging, there was no way I would be able to do this without him.
Since getting this all-terrain wagon, our outings have been seamless (well, transportation-wise). The Veer wagon accommodates all three of my children comfortably, allowing them to enjoy the ride and the scenery. It has completely transformed our outings. Now, navigating hills, curbs, gravel, and more is a breeze. My one-year-old prefers it to his regular stroller, and the older two can get in and out independently, making our adventures much smoother. Some mornings I even pack their breakfast and we go on a walk as they sit, facing one another eating and sightseeing.
Before receiving the Veer wagon, the company erroneously sent me the Wonderfold W4 Luxe Wagon. This was another wagon I had my eye on so I put it all together and tested it out. While this wagon looks much chicier and has all the bells and whistles, it was not practical for our family. I did not like how heavy it was (60 lbs without anyone in it), how big it was, and how you had to take the seats off in order to fold it up and then reattach it once you got to your destination. I found the 5-point harness burdensome and the front zipper "entrance" hard for my children to get in and out. It was difficult to steer and did not do well on curbs or uneven streets. Lastly, the wagon is all fabric-based so if you spill anything in it, you need to remove all the fabric and wash it which is just too much for my messy kids. I did, however, prefer the sun canopy of the Wonderfold which came with it (as opposed to having to buy it separately with the Veer) and I enjoyed all the extra storage space it contained.
Ultimately, I ended up returning the Wonderful wagon and I am so happy I decided to stick with the Veer.
